These guides cover the parts of preparation parents ask about most: what each exam actually tests, how the sections are timed and weighted, how scores and placement work, and which practice makes a measurable difference. Where a topic is specific to one state or one test, such as Year 6 OC placement in NSW or Queensland selective-entry cut-offs, we keep it separate rather than blur the jurisdictions together.

Every piece is edited before publication. Dates, eligibility rules and exam formats are checked against official sources, including the NSW Department of Education, ACER, NESA and the relevant state authorities, and each article carries a visible last-updated date. Where a detail is uncertain or not yet confirmed for the current cycle, we say so rather than guess.
